Biography

Paoli Dam started her acting career in Bengali television mega-serial ?Jibon Niye Khela" in 2003 for Zee Bangla. She also acted in few more mega-serials Tithir Atithi, Tarpor Chand Uthlo, Sonar Harin and Jaya.

Her first released film was Agnipariksha (2006). even if her debut Bengali film is Teen Yaari Katha, it took a long time to release. it was finally released in 2012. Next she acted in the film Tulkalam (2007), directed by Haranath Chakraborty. Mithun Chakraborty and Rachana Banerjee played the lead male and female characters respectively in the film. She played a small role in Bengali film I Love You. In 2008, she acted a Bengali housewife?s role in the Bengali film Hochheta Ki, a comedy of errors directed by Basu Chatterjee.

The other six films released in year 2009 were Hochchheta ki directed by Basu Chatterjee, Jamai Raja directed by Swapan Saha, Box No. 1313, Mallick Bari, Shob Charitro Kalponik directed by Rituparno Ghosh. and Tinmurt

She made her Bollywood debut with the film Hate Story directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Vikram Bhatt. Dam played the character of Kavyah Krishna, a sex worker. Her acting, in this film, was neither appreciated not criticised.

After Hate Story, She acted in Vikram Bhatt?s production Ankur Arora Murder Case. The film is directed by Sohail Tatari and is based on a real incidence of a young boy who died in operation theater because of medical negligence. In this film she is playing character of a lawyer fighting for justice.
