Rahul Jaykar is a successful but lonely musician whose career has started to wane due to abuse of alcohol which affects his voice. His friend Vivek, who is also his manager, urges him to quit the habit and focus on his career, but he not able to do so. During a concert he comes in contact with Aarohi. She idolizes him, and he is impressed by her simplicity and voice. He promises to mentor her but is unable to do so after a medical emergency. After recovering, he finds Aarohi again, apologizes and begins to train her, despite Vivek?s reservation.
He approaches different record labels to give her a chance and eventually Vivek changes his mind about her. Aarohi is an instant hit and people begin to gossip that Rahul is using her as a servant/mistress, this angers Rahul, causing him to relapse into alcohol addiction. Aarohi, who loves Rahul more than her career comforts him and they spend the night together. Despite Arohi?s mother reservations, Aarohi moves in with Rahul.
Things go well until Rahul?s addiction start to increase, causing him to become aggressive and violent. During an award ceremony, instigated by some reporters, Rahul unknowingly pushes Aarohi. To help Rahul from the addiction, they go away to try and cure him but when they return to the city, torments of a new singer cause Rahul to drink again and end up in jail. Rahul understands that he has become a burden on her life, and leaving her is his only option to save her. The next day he makes an excuse to Aarohi, bid her farewell and jumps from a bridge. Distraught by the events, Aarohi decides to move away but is persuaded by Vivek to stay.
The end segment shows Aarohi as a successful singer and that she sees Rahul in the audience whenever she performs. The film ends with Aarohi signing her name as "Aarohi Rahul Jaykar" in a fan?s handbook as a tribute to Rahul and her unsung desire to be Rahul?s wife.
