Story
After reveling in his devilish avtar in Aflatoon, a poor take-off on Luc Bresson's Leon, The Professional, Akshay tries to replay the Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde act in Khiladi 420 too.
One's a god fearing NRI. The other's an unscrupulous absconder from bhai. One wants to be the do- gooder to a dad and daughter (Alok Nath and Mahima Chaudhary) duo. The others wants to steal their millions, and their lives too. It's a no-brainer story that never really takes off. Not when Mahima believes in unleashing her special brand of histrionics - an ungainly mix of whiplash dialogues and hysterical dribbling. The woman spends almost an hour shrieking her lungs out in a sequence where the cold chill of fear might have worked better.?
Strangely, Akshay Kumar as Mr. Hyde outshines the neat, clean, well-oiled, well-mannered Dr Jekyll. There's a certain demoniac glee, which lights up his evil bits, a nervous twitch, and an invisible crick.... Naturally, the nice parts are a pale shadow. A new career option in the offing, Akshay? Specially since the Khiladi is fast
