Story

Ajay (Akshay Kumar) is married to his childhood friend Durga (Sridevi); who is innocent and lacks the knowledge of the outside world. When Ajay is given the post as police inspector, he re-locates to Bombay and later on calls upon Durga to move into there new home in the city. Durga notices that the women in her neighborhood are subjected to injustice by the police and corrupt politicians. Durga sets out to expose the misconduct of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Chaurasiya (Kiran Kumar), but she herself gets entangled in a web of lies and deceit and is tried in court for prostitution.
